PERFORMERS’ CLUB

ENJOYABLE EVENING An enjoyable time was spent in Mr G. Kingston's studio on Saturday night when another successful Performers’ Club evening was held. There was a large number of members and friends present, and dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr W. Whitehead. The president., Mr G. Kingston, extended a welcome to new members. During the evening an exhibition by Miss Iris Aiken and Mr G. Kingston was given of the St. Bernard's waltz. The dance was demonstrated in three ways, the ballroom, stage, and chain methods, the number later being taught to those present. The following programme was much appreciated:—Elocution, Mr H. Primrose; mandolin solos, Mr G. W. Lee; vocal solos, Mr M. Burdis; vocal quartette, “The Melody Maestros”. The hostesses for the evening were Miss Joan Irvine, black chiffon skirt and dawm-gold slipper satin blouse; Miss Bettie Grace, black waterwave taffeta. Pickering, black embossed, marquisette; Babs Moreland, black and gold embossed net; Wilma Thomas, peachPink taffeta with petunia coatee; Rose Holden, magnolia Chantilly lace; B. Mullane, multi-coloured striped georgette; J.
