ANGLICAN GARDEN PARTY The ladies’ guild of St. Matthew's Church held a garden party at the home of Mrs A. J. Shepherd, Coronation Hoad, recently. Glorious sunshine and spacious lawns made an ideal setting, and' Cver 100 guests attended the function. Afternoon tea was served in the grounds by members of the guild, who included Mesdames F. H, Stretton (president), F. I. Creckett (secretary). L. Aiken, R. Hill, C. B. Davis, D. Jones and A. Mayo. Much interest was taken in a general stall which was in charge of Mesdames' J. Boles and A. L. Waters. Mr Shepherd was in charge of the clock golf, and Mrs Mason conducted the ladder ■•roquet, and bullseye croquet. FAREWELL PARTY Mrs E. Pelry, who is leaving Morrinsvdle to take up housekeeping again, i \v:.s farewelled at a delightful party ct J Die Morrinsville Hotel. The hostesses, Mrs Jones, Misses Barron, McPeake, and Mrs Earwaker had decorated the rooms charmingly with autumn flowers. The guest of the evening wore a smart frock of floral craquelle The evening was spent in games, Mr Blomileld being the winner at Monopoly. The treasure hunt was won hy Mrs Retry and partner. Supper was served in the social room, when best wishes were extended ‘ to Mr and Mrs Petry.
