FAREWELL DANCE

1 ! MR AND MRS I. KOSOOF HONOURED A farewell dance in honour of Mr and Mrs I. Kosoof, who are leaving Huntly to take up residence at Mat.tmata, was tendered by the combined sports bodies in the Parish Hall recently when a number of friends assembled to bid them farewell. An enjoyable evening was spent, music for dancing being provided by Dave Shaw's Band. The hall was attractively decorated with greenery and blue, red, and yellow streamer’s. Messrs J. A. Malcolm and S. Bennett were M’s.C. A novelty waltz was won by Mrs W. Evans and Mr J. A. Malcolm. Mr A. Harlock, in making the presentation to the guests-of-honour, of a handsome clock, suitably inscribed, on behalf of the Huntly gun club, tennis club and football clubs, expressed regret at their departure from the district. Mr Kosoof had taken a keen interest in all sports, and had held various official positions, being treasurer of the South Auckland Football League until recently. He was always ready to assist with the management of the gun club. Mr and Mrs Kosoof had not enjoyed good health recently and he hoped they would benefit by the change of residence. On behalf of the Huntly tennis club, Mr J. A. Malcolm expressed regret M losing Mr and Mrs Kosoof. Both were keenly interested in the club and were prime movers in obtaining the new courts at the Domain. Mr Kosoof had held the position of secretary and treasurer for the club and had been a first-class player. He wished them health and happiness in their new sphere. Mr Kosoof, in expressing thanks,

said that he regretted having to leave Huntly. Musical honours were then accorded the guests of the evening. Among those present were:—Mesdames I. Kosoof, L. Kosoof, D. Mackinnon (Waikokowai), W.
