WAREHOUSE MEN’B CLAIM WAGES RISING TO £8 (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday A feature of the claims for a Dominion award for soft goods warehousemen and general warehousemen, filed at Auckland, is a clause seeking the introduction of a 37£-hour week. Hitherto it has riot been the custom of unionists to ask anything below a 40-hour week. The warehousemen are also claiming increased wages, the maximum sought for males being £6 5s and for females, £3 10s, provision being made for varying half-yearly increments depending on the age of commencement of work. A wage of £7 weekly Is claimed for first salesmen and town travellers and £8 for country travellers.
