TOWN BOARD MEETING

(Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. The first meeting of the year of the Leamington Town Board was held at the Domain Pavilion last evening when there were present: Messrs J. XV. Garland (chairman), J. Blackman, W. Horne, H. J. Nelson, C. Kelly, F. Skeet and the town clerk, Mr R. s. Hanna. Owing to the dangerous state or the road at the corner of Cook and Shakespeare Streets, the pot-holes are to he filled immediately. Mr F. Lye was asked to make representations on behalf of the board to the Minister or Transport, to have the Roto-o-rangi Road declared a main highway. It was decided to enquire into the classification of the Leamington roads, and when this has been done to have grade signs erected. A complaint was received from a number of Cook Street residents regarding the bellowing of cattle in a paddock at night. The hoard decided to notify tiie owner that his lease of the paddock would not he renewed when the present term expires. It was stated that an important mailbox was at present being cleared too early for residents, and the postmaster is to he asked to provide for a later clearance of this box.
