FAREWELL EVENING. Mr and Mrs C. 6. Hawken, who are leaving Walterlmu this week to reside I at Ohinewal, were tendered a farewell i bridge and five hundred evening on ! July 20. I Mr and Mrs A. Brash kindly lent j their home for the occasion. Prizes for bridge were won by Mr Hawken and Mrs East, and for five hundred to Mr N. Brash and Miss B. Taylor. After supper Mr lies presented Mr and Mrs Hawken with a handsome chiming clock, with best wishes from all, and to their daughters, Misses ' Marie and Edna Hawken, dainty jewel | caskets. Mr Hawken suitably responded. Musical honours were then accorded. A new -settler, Mr B. Rowe, was also wclcome l l I-t llii' district.
