LATE MR C. L. BARKER.
‘ WAIPA COUNTY TRIBUTI. ‘— (Times Representative.) TE AV‘VAMUTU, Monday. “He was gentlemanly. courteous. unassuming and always did his job well," said Mr S. C. .\lacky at a. meeting of the Waipa County Council at Te Awamutu to-day, in referring to the late Mr C. L. Barker, chief reporter of the \Vaikato Times, whose death occurred recently. Endorsing Mr Macky‘a statement. Mr F. L. Onion said Mr Barker had been noted as a reporter of discretion. and it was regrettable that a man of such ability and with such a bright future should meet such an untimely death. Mr J. 5. Fisher said Mr Barker knew exactly what was required 0! him as a reporter, and it was sad to think that they had lost him. A motion of sympathy with Mr Barker‘s relatives was passed, the councillors standing in silence.
