Shipments of butter from New Zea« land in January totalled 12.968 tons, a decrease of 498 tons on January, 1935, but for the first seven months of the season shipments were 3058 tons greater at 73,524 tons. January shipments from Australia and New Zealand to the United Kingdom were only 21,746 tons, against 29,218 tons in January, 1935. During January 12 per cent of th« butter exported was sold f.o.b. against 21 per cent in January, 1935, The estimated stocks of all butter! in London at February 1, together with export stocks in New Zealand and afloat, totalled 43,118 tons against 41,919 tons a year ago. Cheese exports in January, at 6954 tons, were 2850 tons less than in January. 1935. while for the first seven months of the season they were 39,423 tons, a decline of 7963 tons. Of the January total, 70 per cent was white and 30 per cent coloured, the figures for January, 1935, being 72 per cent and 28 per cent respectively. Estimated stocks of all cheese in England, together with export stocks in New Zealand and afloat, totalled 43,850 tons at February 1, against 49,285 tons a year ago.
