HIT WITH MARLIN SPIKE.
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE. ALLEGED AGGRESSOR COMMITTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Saturday. Alexander McAlplne (43), a bushman at the Ohakune Court yesterday, was committed to the Supreme Court, Wanganui, lor trial on a charge of the attempted murder of John Stephen Walsh, a farm manager, at Ohalcune, on December 5. According to the evidence of Walsh, following a discussion with accused regarding a dead sheep accused stepped before him as he was leaving the shearing shed and threw a marlin spike at him, which went through the clothing he was wearing and made a perforation in his chest. Walsh "was in hospital until December I'D.
