HAMILTON EAST SCHOOL
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. BREAK-UP ARRANGEMENTS. Mr H. M. Baker presided over thb monthly meeting of the Hamilton East School committee when matters relative to the breaking-up ceremonies were discussed. It was decided to hold- a parents’ day and exhibition of school work in ■place of the usual gala day and to hold this event in February. Thanks were expressed to Mr Henderson for bis splendid donations of trees and plants for the school grounds. The headmaster, Mr W. A. Curteis, said that the proficiency examinations ■had resulted very' satisfactorily, there being only one failure. Attainment certificates will be presented to pupils beading the classes in main subjects. The secretary %vas instructed to thank the Borough Council Library committee for the loan of books during the year. Seasonal greetings were extended to the headmaster and staff as that was the last meeting prior to tha break-up.
