NEW YEAR SPORTS
WHATAWHATA MEETING. The Whatawhata Domain will be the venue again on New Year’s Day for the annual sports meeting of (he Wliatawhala Amateur Athletic Sports Club. Regarded as one of the principal annual sports gatherings in the province, Ibis meeting has been a popular fixture for many years, and the interesting programme prepared for this year promises lo attract a representative entry. Twenty-four events, including running, jumping, and cycling, are provided for, and these will be decided on the new grass banked track. Entries for all events, other than children’s and boys’ and girls’ races, will close with the secretary, Mr G. G. A. Gould, Whatawhata, on December 21.
