Secrecy surrounds the theft of important Japanese naval papers fiorn Lieutenant-Commander Omae, of the Japanese Navy, who recently arri\cd en route from Europe to Japan. The documenls were recovered by detectives. Chief Emil Trudcl, in refusing to discuss the case, admitted that he had been thanked by the Japanese Minister at Ottawa. It is understood that Ihe papers, which were in a satchel, were smuggled out of an hotel shortly after Lieutenant-Commander Oniac’s arrival.
