MoCREADY BEATS BLOMFIELD. A LIVELY EXHIBITION. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Strenuous wrestling, relieved at intervals by more spectacular work, characterised the professional contest between Earl McGready, of Canada, and “Lofty” Blomfield, of New Zealand, at the Town llall last evening. The Canadian secured the decision by a submission fall in tho seventh round. The early part of the bout saw Blomfield, by reason of more forceful wrestling, holding an advantage over Ills opponent, but McCready, who showed exceptional strength in escaping from a number of punishing holds, came back strongly over the latter stages. The fall was gained by McCready after a particularly lively period. ; Blomfield, who had been dazed,‘by a series of hcadlock throws, managed lo force his opponent back on to the ropes, but the Canadian rebounded quickly to lower the New Zealander with a flying body scissors, which he quickly converted to his favourite hold, and octopus deathloclc. LURICH BEATS KRUSKAMP. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright SYDNEY, Aug. 26. In a wrestling bout at the Leichhardt Stadium Tom Lurich defeated Kruskamp. When the latter in the fourth round attempted a "drop kick” he collided with the ropes and fell heavily to the floor. Lurich applied a body press and Kruskamp could not continue. Kruskamp had secured a fall in the third round after a series of spectacular flying tackles and "drop kicks.”
