The aggregate scores at the termination of the 12th round of the international chess tournament are:—Sweden, 32 points; United States, 29*; Poland and Czecho-Slovalda, 28 J; Hungary, 28; Austria, 27J; Yugoslavia and Argentina, 26; Estonia, 25; Latvia, 23J; Finland and British Empire, 23; France, 22; Palestine, 21; Lithuania, 19*; Denmark, 18; Rumania, 17*; Italy, 14; Switzerland, 8; Ireland, 7£. In the women’s tournament Mrs Holloway (Britain) is leading with 2* points. Others are:—Mademoiselles Olga and Vera Menchik (Czecho-Slo-vnkla), 2 each; Mademoiselle Gcrlccka (Poland), J*; Mademoiselle Harum (Austria), * • Mademoiselle Thierry (Denmark) and Mrs Shannon (Irish Free State) have not scored.
