MATANGI NEWS,

FANCY DRESS BALL. On Thursday the children's annual fancy dress ball, organised by the ladies of the St. David’s Guild, was lie Id In the .Matangi Hall. There was a large attendance ol children, parents and friends, visitors being present from -surrounding districts. The hall was prettily decorated with coloured lights, ferns and dowers, and the many children in their gav coslimms made a bright scene. The evening was spent in games and dancing. .nrs Leckte and -Vlr (dayton supplied the music, and Mr E Dawson was M.G.

During the evening items were given by: Avon Bluett, tap dance; Arthur Bluett, violin solo; Norma Johns, hornpipe; Jessie Creswell and Norma Johns, tap dance; Boy Bluett, elocution; Patlie Bluett, acrobatics. Mr Pawson, in a short speech, thanked the performers, who were then presented with handsome bouquets. At 9 o'clock supper was served for the children by the ladies ol the guild. The adults then took the floor, music being played by Mrs Decide and Mr Clayton, and extras by Miss E. Nielsen. Mr -C. Richardson was M.G. Much credit is due to the ladies who worked with the children and helped to make 'the evening such a success.
