RACING AT ELLERSLIE

PAKURANGA HUNT. PROSY BOY’S CHIEF EVENT. ENGE AND GAY LAP SCORE. SUCCESS OF SILVER BRIAR. The weather was fine though dull for the annual meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt Club’s meeting at Ellerslie on Saturday. Throughout the racing was of a high standard, three favourites winning outright and three finishing In the money. The Hunt Cup was won by Prosy Boy in a fine finish with Ardmanning, while the chief Hat event resulted in a convincing victory for Enge. The sprint honours of the programme were annexed by an improver in Gay Lap. The attendance was good and a substantial increase in lolalisator turnover was recorded.

Crossing the lop l.audlubber was In charge of all'alrs, with Express, Valorous. Jewelled Girdle, silver Briar and Mountain Bruce in that order, l.audlubber and express were practically on terms at the straight entrance, where Silver Briar was right up in I'roni of Jewelled Girdle, Mountain Bruce and Wee Pal. In the straight Silver Briar came through to win decisively by two lengths from Jewelled Girdle, with Wee Pat four lengths rm liter bark. Gay Lap was the lirst to straighten up from Crooning, Imamlnt, Roman Mascot and Tybalt, and went on to win by a length and a-half from Tybalt, who beat Imamlnt by two lengths.
