BADMINTON DANCE. A very jolly and -successful dance was held on Wednesday evening in aid of funds for the Pirongia Badminton Club. Mr Peter Scriven was M.C. The tables and stage were beautifully decorated with daffodils and japonica and golden wattle. Queen Carnival. Considerable interest is being evidenced in the Pirongia district in the functions to be held for the United Sports Queen, Miss Heine Bell, in Iho Queen Carnival. An altractive schedule of events has been drawn up for Hie coining month, Kockoy. A ladies' hockey match between Te Mala and Pirongia was played at Pirongia. when, after a very willing game, Pirongia were Iho winners. Afterwards Hie Te Mala learn were enlcrlained to tea and attended the Badminton's Club dance in Iho evening.
