BUDGET SOON.
MR COATES BUSY. APPEARANCE EARLY IN SESSION WELLINGTON, Thursday. Since his return from London last Sunday the Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, has been kept busily engaged. In addition to his normal departmental work, there was his speech at- the Wellington civic reception last night, and lie has also been devoting considerable time to the. preparation of the Budget for submission to Parliament during the coming session. During his. absence in England, Mr Coates was kept informed of financial developments in the Dominion, and during the last few days lie lias 'been able to make further progress with his actual preparations. There is a likelihood that the Budget may appear comparatively early in the coming session. Mr Coates will leave Wellington tomorrow night for a brief visit to his homo at Matakohe, North Auckland. It will not he. altogether a holiday, as Jig will address meetings of his constituents at, Dargaville oil Monday and at Helensvilie on Tuesday. He will return to Wellington next Thursday morning for the opening of Parliament that afternoon.
