DIESEL ENGINES PREFERRED. TO REPLACE PETROL DRIVEN. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY,. Aug- 21. The tests of the 850 Diesel engined London buses during the past few years have satisfied the London passenger transport . experts of their superior advantages to petrol-driven vehicles on the ground of . economy and safety and, the board has decided in replacing the existing fleets of buses and coaches : to order only the Diesel type. There are some 57,000 buses and sQo.coaches in the service, and the change-over wifi not, it is expected, be completed for 10 years-
