CHILLED BEEF.
TRADE DEVELOPING.
SATISFACTORY PROSPECTS; LEAD CHALLENGED., Cnltefi Press Assn.— Elec. Tel. Copyright* (Reoeived Dee. 29, 12-30 p.m..) LONDON, Deo.- 28, An article in the Shipbuilding- and; Shipping Record states that the neW 7 chilled meat trade from Australia and, ' New Zealand has. reached a stage, where the frequent shipments are arriving in a condition so .satisfactory that the wholesale value Is little below that of the best Argentine beef. The difference Is due to a great ex-., tent to the quality otf the cattle at present bred in Australia, but Judging from the large amount of prize stock Australia has Imported in the past year the time is not far distant when top prices will be realised and Argentine’s lead seriously challenged.
