ASSAULT AND ROBBERY.
BANK CLERK ATTACKED.
FOUND IN RAILWAY STATION
AUCKLAND, Wednesday
Mr Leslie Nicholson Allright, bank clerk, aged 30, was found in the Tamaki railway station yesterday afternoon, and was admitted to the hospital suffering from severe head Injuries.' He had a broken nose and there were several teeth knocked out. His faco was faltered. Mr Allright complained to those who found him that he had been robbed of £2O, and those who were giving him attention saw that the inside pocket of his coat had been turned out. When told that he was at Tamaki, Mr Allright was astonished, and was not able to say when or where he was assaulted, or how he came to be in the district. He was better able to recall preceding incidents after he had received attention at the hospital. He informed the police' last evening that he was at the Auckland railway station on Christmas Eve, and later worked at his bank in Newmarket. The last place he could remember visiting was Ellers•lie.
