HEARD WELL IN SYDNEY. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Dec. 26, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 26. The King’s broadcast, and exchange of greetings among all parts of the Empire was heard splendidly in Australia. WORLD WIDE BROADCAST. LOCAL RECEPTION 'INDIFFERENT. Hamilton listeners who sat up until the early hours of this morning in •anticipation of hearing .the King’s Christmas broadcast to the Empire, did not receive the transmission under the best of conditions. Reception was indifferent and while the broadcast was readable at times, there were intervals when interference was very pronounced. The broadcast was scheduled to commence at 1.45 a.m. and for the ibcneflt of New Zealand listeners who did not hear it, an electrical transcription will be transmitted: irom the national stations at 9.20 p.m. this evening.
