FOG HOLDS UP TRAFFIC.

It brought to a (standstill hundreds of lorries with Chris'lmas goods on main roads, and paralysed communications throughout file country. A lorry 'collided with a lius near Doncaster and caught lire, the driver being burnt to death. A woman walking in Leicester stumbled over an obstacle which ■turned out lo he a dead man. Apparently he had been lhe victim of a ■stroke.
The 'P'lot of Ail ' Force machine lost his bearings and was forced to land on the Isle of Sheppcy. The aeroplane was overturned, hut the occupants were not hurt. A seaplane was stranded on a mudbank in the Medway. Men in boats look off the pilot and two passengers.
A ferry steamer collided with a •trawler on the Tyne and both were damaged.
Shipping was almost stationary on the Thames, Tyne and Humber.
