Heavy damage is reported from all parts of the metropolitan area as the result of a severe Uuuvdcrsform which ■struck Sydney this evening. The wind reached gale force and heavy rain fell, accompanied by hail. The Liverpool dislriot was plunged info darkness when the electric light wires were broken, and numbers of houses were unroofed. Small craft in lire harbour were severely buffeted and many were overturned. The police are searching for Iwo men who are reported to have been drowned.
