CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES. JOLLIE3T FOR YEARS. (Official Wireless.; RUGBY, Dec. 22. Their Majesties’ Christmas will be the jolliest lor ninny years owing to the presence of more young people than recently. They will make’an unusually large Royal party at Sandringham, whither Their .Majesties went on Saturday, taking Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. The Queen, as usual, almpst daily visited numerous establishments and made 800 Christmas purchases, many for the children. The Duke and Duchess of York will .arrive at Sandringham. to-day. 'l’lie Duke of Kent during the weekend will show his bride the beauties of Their Majesties’ country home. The Prince of Wales is expected by air on Christinas Eve.
Christmas greetings were exchanged with Llie Duke of Gloucester.
After tho King’s broadcast from the library a giant Christmas tree in the ballroom will be illuminated by 1000 fairy lights and Their Majesties will distribute the presents from the crowded branches to the domestic staff, estate workers and their families.
