WASH-HOUSE GUTTED.

FOW STREET OUTBREAK. SPREAD OF FLAMES CHECKED. The wash-house attached to a residence in Fow Street, owned and occupied by Mr W. B. Pomeroy, was gutted by fire shortly before 10 o'clock this -morning. The -outbreak was caused by a spark from the copper, which ignited .sonic inilammahle material lying alongside. The Hamilton Fine Brigade, which received a call by telephone, checked the spread of Ihe flames Ahicli had threatened to gain a hold on the adjoining irnuae and the outbreak w;; extinguished within a few minutes. While assisting to extinguish the blaze Foreman S. Davis was burned on the hand, the injuries, though only minor, being of a painful nature.
