, TE AROHA NOTES. '

RECORD FLIGHT EASED UP.

KING WIN IN GOOD HEART

(Special to Times.)

TE AROHA, Friday.

Since performing v-ery 'creditably at the Wa-ipa meeting, Record. Flight has been enjoying the freedom of the paddock. The change has allowed him tp freshen up, and at New Year he will again be among 'the track, workers.

Since joining J. F. Eva’-s team the Lapidary -gelding, D-on’t Lap, has- improved materially, and he is working in fine style on the tracks. Properly pia-ced during the remainder of the season he should -get into the money. Mr R. B. Hines’ King Win bears a really well trained appearance just mow and! he is working very consistently on the fiat. He -is to -continue -contesting hurdle events d-urlng the season, and now that he has -confidence is likely to -show up to -advantage even in good 'company. Mazlr Looks Well. J. H. Wallace’s Mazir, who -came under public notice at -the recent Waikato meeting has made a go-oldi recovery from a kick on the hock that he received shortly afterward-s. This Whirlwind ge-ldin-g has lost his -bulky appearance, and is shaping into a fine stamp of thoroughbred. He is not being hurried in his preparation, but promises to be a worthy member of a -stable that in -the -past has won -go-old prize money. When iKling Me-stor was raced at Te Rapa 'in November he was not at the 'to-p of his form, and ran accordingly. He was given a short respite from wo-rk, and has now freshened up most satisfactorily. He will probably carry the black and gold ,at Parawai next month. When leased to Mr M. J. Moodabe last year he was -in winning vein -on this course, and may again race to advantage there. Mr ( R. B. Hines’ three-year-old Nahlin by King Lu—Queen Arch -is to -be raced at the Thames meeting. Hitherto minor ailments have -precluded him facing the starter, but he now appears to be more robust in constitution, and in due -course may be expected to perform in a manner worthy of his -breeding.
