A message received from Rabaul states that Pilot Donald Crisp has arrived safely at Wau. He escaped with bruises and a shaking when after running into a severe storm, his machine crashed in the tree tops. Ills smoke signals were seen by search planes. A message received early in the week from Rabaul stated that a New Guinea service aeroplane crashed in the jungle between Salamoa and Wau. The wreckage was located from the air. Mr Crisp was the only occupant.
