EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. At the fortnightly euchre tournament or the Waitoa Anglican Church the first prizes were won by Miss Olga Luxton (arter Going with Mrs H. Kerr) and Mr George Cleglioni. Lesser honours went to Mrs G. Clegliorn and Mr Johnson. Oddfellows' Social. in the Waitoa Ilall on Tuesday evening the Loyal Waitoa Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F,. entertained the local residents at a dance and progressive “500.” There was a large number present. Tho music was provided by Bro. F. Cheffings, and Messrs. ,\ Weston and Coomhridge. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Sisters j AicKenrirv, F. Cheffings and Larsen. Bro. D m. Fraser was in charge or the dance floor, while Bro. S. M. Hyde carried out the duties of card M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Bro. W. J. Hyde and Mis Hyde. At “500” the first prizes were won bv Sister S. M. Hyde and Mr F. Fdgecuinbe, lesser honours going to Mrs U. L. Gallic-ban and Bro.. Owen Blomfield. Springdale Dance. At tho fortnightly dance organised by the Springdale Social Committee,' tho music was supplied by Mrs Glover’s Or-
chestra and extras were played by Mr A. North. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Bliss M. Lltcbwark and Mr Johansen, and Miss A. Cunningham and Mr A. King. Mr F. Price was M.C. At a meeting of the Social Committee of the Springdale Hall, It was decided to continue the fortnightly dances until the end'of October, and as a finale, to hold a fancy dress and masquerade ball on October 20. Personal. Miss Doreen Luxton, of Waitoa, Is spending a fortnight’s holiday In Tara-i nakl. Mr, and Mrs Arthur Henderson and son are spending a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland as the guests of Mr and Mrs Hills.
