AUSTRIA’S NEW ORDER.
HEIMWEHR DECISION. DR. DOLLFUSS AS LEADER. REMARKABLE ORDER. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. VIENNA, Sept. 14. The Heimwehr has decided unreservedly to accept the leadership of the Chancellor of Austria, Dr. Dollfuss, and to Incorporate the whole armed force in his “ patriotic front. ’ This will greatly strengthen his position. Prince Starhemberg, leader of the Heimwehr, will not now press for the suppression of the Social Democrats or the appointment of a State Commissioner. The Social Democrats in Vienna are Issuing an appeal to the country, declaring their readiness to co-oper-ate in the economio restoration of Austria. A remarkable order, which indicates the trend of Dr. Dollfuss’ policy, on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence, has ordained that a crucifix shall be placed in every room in army barracks and, in addition; that a picture of the Virgin Mary will be embroidered or painted in the regimental colour on squadron banners throughout the army.
