CRUELTY TO BULL.
FLESH GROWN OVER CHAIN. AUCKLAND, Saturday. D. G. Milieu appeared on summons in liic Police Court yesterday before Mr W. 1L McKean, S.M., on a charge of causing cruelty to a hull. Defendant pleaded not guilty. Constable Nazcy said lie visited defendant’s property, and defendant admitted that a chain had been on the animal's head for two years. Flesh bad grown over the chain, and witness had to obtain a butcher’s knife to remove the chain from the back of the horns. A fine of £2 was imposed, the magistrate commenting that the case was different from one where an animal not in proper condition would be worked.
