WEDDING.

TURNWALD—COBB. The wedding was solmenised at St. George’s Anglican Church on Saturday; evening, July -29, between Ethney.J Mav, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. D- Cobb, of Te Aroha Street, Claudelands and Mr Rene Anton Turnwald, second son of Mr and Mrs A. Turnwald, of Ohaupo. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. J- Boyt, during which Mr George Wheeler, cousin of the bridegroom, rendered the solo l- How Lovely are Thy Dwellings.” Miss Myra Salter officiated at the organ. The bride, accompanied by her father, entered the church to the strains,of the wedding hymn and, wore a graceful gown of ivory silk lace and georgette. Her veil of net and silk lace was arranged in cape fashion and held in place by tiny sprays, of orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of white lilies. The bride, was attended by Miss Gwendoline Cobb (her sister) , and Miss Mary Sweeney, as brides- | maids.. -They wore frocks of sunset < georgette with godets of silk lace insets in skirts, lace capes to tone, and carried sheafs of sprihg flowers. Dawn Cobb acted as flower girl and wore a long frock of ivory georgette. She carried a muff of rucked georgette. Mr Cedric Banks, of Tauranga, acted as best’man and the groomsman was Mr Leslie Turnwald, of. Ohaupo.

A reception was held at'the “Centreway,” which had been' beautiiully decorated for the occasion.’ Mrs H D. Cobb (mother -of the bride), received her. guests wearing ; a parn.a violet chiffon velvet, frock and coatee, and carried’a posy of gold -'flowers.and ■ fern. . Mrs A. Turnwald,. mother ol the bridegroom, wore a. frock of; embroidered black crepe de chine, with ponyskin coatee and carried a posy of. violets and fern. Mrs , \V. ? Edwards, grandmother of the bride; was dressed in black crepe de chine and carried a posy of .violets and daphne. . During the wedding breakfast > Mrs lan Stuart sang the solo “My Prayer.’’ As this .occasion, also marked the silver wedding anniversary" of the brideis parents special reference and felicitations were offered them. After the breakfast the room was cleared for dancing and a very happy time-was spent. Community singing, led by Mrs Ross, was indulged in and enjoyed. Zoe Faville recited and a song" was contributed by Miss Chaplin. Duets were played by Misses Myra Salter and Dorothy CobbLater the happy couple left for the North, the bride travelling in a violet frock trimmed with oyster facings and hat to match, worn with a navy coat, with musquash fur collar.
