Brass in damp weather will keep bright longer if rubbed over with a little vaseline or furniture polish after cleaning.
To clean white furniture, mix whiting with warm water and rub this on with a clean soft cloth? It will both clean the enamel and preserve the whiteness-
If you sprinkle , powdered borax in the food cupboard the ants will not come near it. Ants, also dislike paraffin. and will not walk over.it, so if you find out where they enter, you can pour paraffin round the outside doorstep.
Baked apples and pears taste ever so much nicer if you use honey instead of sugar.when cooking.
