DICTATES TO CHURCH
A NAZI DECREE.
SWASTIKA FLAG TO BE FLOWN.
SUPERINTENDENT’S PROTEST,
United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright.
(Received July 1, 9.5 a.m.) BERLIN, June 30. -
The -'Chancellor, Herr Hitler, has ordered the Nazi swastika flag to be flown over all protestant churches on Sunday.
This follows a protest by the Evangelical General Superintendent against <.
the Nazi Vice-President Announcement that Sunday’s services would be devoted to “bringing the dire straits of our church before the countenance of the Living God." In the meantime the military chaplain, Rev. Mueller, Herr Hitler’s plenipotentiary, has since been invested with dictatorial jurisdiction within the church, though Herr Hitler himself is a Catholic, thus countering the efforts of the superintendents and Lutheran ministers, who are asked to tell their parishioners to listen to a broadcast on Sunday evening explaining the revolution in the Lutheran Church.
