Four pounds of apples, 111* sultanas, lit) onions, a large clove of garlic, lib sugar, J teaspoon salt, a tablespoon ground ginger, a tablespoon mustard, teaspoon cayenne pepper, 11b dates, l pint limejuiec, 1 pint vinegar, and a bag of mixed spice. Peel, core, and cut into quarters the apples, and mince t tic onions and garlic, put all the ingredients together into, a saucepan, and allow to simmer gently for two hours, then, when cold, botllc and make airtight. If no limejuice is procurable, use the extra quantity -of vinegar,
