CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON.
GOLD STAR FOR HAMILTONIAN

WELLINGTON, Wednesday
The United Fire Brigade Association Conference was continued to-day, when a demonstration of the latest fire-fighting appliances was given. Gold stars for twenty-five years’ service were presented to Superintendent Craig, of Hamilton; Foreman Williams, Hokitika; and Secretary Lakin, Hokitika. The following officers were elected: —President, Superintendent A. Boon (New Plymouth); vice-presi-dents, Superintendent 11. E. Follas (Dcvonport), and Deputy-Superinten-dent Wilson (Milton); secretary, Captain T. J. Watts (Newmarket); treasurer and secretary, C. A. Osborne (Onehunga).
