ANZAC DAY.
SERVICE AT GORDONTON. Gordonton celebrated Anzac Day at two services on Tuesday. In the morning a service was held in front of the monument. The school children, led by their teachers, paraded, and were joined by many parents and friends. * Th service was led by the Rev. J. Haslop. Mr J. R. Fow gave an inspiring address. Wreaths of remembrance were laid at the base of the monument by the school children. They also sang the Anzac Anthem. In the evening a large crowd gathered in the Hall, where (lie annual service was held, conducted by llio Hev. J. Haslop. The address was given by the Rev. J. Dennis. A vocal solo, “The Deathless Army," was sung by Mr Haslop. Several veterans of the Gordonton district were present.
