ANNUAL MEETINGS.

QORDONTON. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of householders at Gordonton. Mr J. Sharp presided. The balance-sheet showed a creditbalance of £ll 9s 9d. The chairman’s report stated there were 62 on the roll, and that, as a result of entertainments during the year, a library had been installed. The report congratulated Mr Hill on gaining 100 per cent, proficiency passes. It was decided to enter a team in the school football competition. The following committee was elected: —Messrs J. Sharp, F. Williamson, W. J. Bridgman, W. J. Carswell, A. H. Thomson. HORSHAM DOWNB. The attendance at the householders’ meeting at Horsham Downs was smaller than usual. The chairman reported that owing to the highly Improved state of the grounds work during the term had been in the nature of malntainance and care. The school was reduced to' a one-teacher status, Miss A. E. Booth being appointed mistress. The treasurer pointed out that a credit-balance of £l7 Is 3d existed at the beginning of the term. Receipts were £45 6s 2d and expenditure. £39 11s lid, ending with a credit-balance of £22 15s Gd. The newly-elected members are Mrs Graham, Mrs H. H. Upson, Messrs F. W. Baker, J. C. Graham, H. H. Upson. At a subsequent meeting Messrs F. W. Baker and J. C. Graham were reelected chairman and treasurer respectively. TIRAU. The following report on the Tirau School was submitted at the meeting of householders: Number of scholars at end of year, 99; number of scholars on roll at present time, 93; average attendance’for last, year, 86.9; average attendance this year to date, 85.4. At the end of the school year 11 scholars sat for the proficiency examination and nine gained their proficiency, while the other two gained their competency. The inspector’s report stated that the school is in a good state of efficiency. The neatness of all written work and the attractive appearance of the class-rooms were specially worthy.The following were elected to committee: Mrs Evans, Messrs W, It. G. Allen (chairman); L. Bishop (secretary), G. S. Wilson and A. J. Wine. ORINt. The following were elected members of the'Orini school committee: — Messrs Thompson (convenor), W. Wood, R. Priest, B. Garnham, and J. Carswell. There was a large attendance of householders and keen interest was taken in the election, a list of 10 nominations being received. The school, roll was reported to be 62. i The funds were stated to be in credit £49, and the speqlal children’s fund in credit £l9 at the local Savings Bank. Mr P. I. Mourant was in the chair. PATERANGI. At the annual meeting of householders the following were elected a committee: —Chairman, Mr S. C. Macky; secretary, Mr G. McCallum; Mesdames Curtis and Johnston and Mr F. Ryburn. The headmaster’s report showed the roll number at the end of last year was 57, while now it is 51. The average attendance for 1932 was 53.5. Six candidates were presented at the proficiency examinations In December and all were successful.

NQARUAWAHIA. At the annual meeting of householders, presided over by Mr A. Warburton, the following committee was elected:—Mrs T. Paterson, Revs. H. A. Moore and F. Attwood, Messrs A. R. Rayner, A. Graham, B. Kemp, Burgess, J. R. Redpath, A. G. Hampson. Subsequently Rev. IT. A. Moore was elected chairman and Mrs T. Paterson secretary. -WHATAWHATA. The annual meeting of householders was poorly attended. Mr H. Johnstone presided. The reports showed a very satisfactory condition. The following were elected a committee:—Messrs H. Johnstone (chairman and secretary), L. Barry, F. Sperry, E. Egan and K. Drower. Mr G. Gould, who had been chairman for ten years, refused to accept nomination, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the great amount of work he had carried out on behalf of the school. TE RORE. The following were elected to the Te Rore School Committee:—Mr G. Finn (chairman and secretary), Mrs D. Garrett. Mrs.F. M. Wilson, Messrs E. Krlppner ’and E. Anderson. OTEWA. Messrs C. S. Smith (chairman), E. Croton (secretary and treasurer), Mrs K. Schultz, J. 11. Sutherland and S. J. Itankan. KIO KIO. Messrs G. D. Hall (chairman) A. E. Trott (secretary), F. T. Wylie and F. Clcland. MANGAWARA. At. the householders’ meeting for the Mangawara School district the following were elected a committee: Mr McGregor (chairman), Mrs McGregor (secretary and treasurer'.
