CARDINAL-ARCHBISHOP’S LETTER
United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright.
BERLIN, April 26
The German Cabinet has adopted a law which limits the admission of Jewish students to State schools and universities to a number based on the proportion of Jews to the total population. The measure exempts the chilren of Jews who served in the Great War. That peace has been concluded between the Roman Catholic Church and the National Socialist Party is a fact confirmed by a letter addressed by the Cardinal-Archbishop of Cologne to the clergy, and published by the National Zeitung in Essen. The letter expressly orders that nobody shall be excluded from the sacrametns, or be refused ecclesiastical sepulture, by reason of his membership of the National Socialist Party, and that all persons wearing party uniform must henceforth be admitted t., enter freely places of worship and partake of the sacraments. The Archbishop’s letter contains instructions concerning the bringing of party flags Into churches and the arrangement of special festival services. ELIMINATING THE JEWB. HIGH OFFICER DISMISSED. FROM STAHLHELM ORGANISATION. (Received April 27, 11.55 a.m.) BERLIN, April 26. General Seldte has dismissed Colonel Duesterberg, the second in command of the Stahlhelm (steel helmets), on the ground of his Jewish extraction, socialistic sympathies, and opposition to the Nazi Stahlhelm Alliance.
