RUGBY FOOTBALL.

THE GAME IN HAMILTON. SEASON OPENS ON SATURDAY. DRAW FOR INAUGURAL GAMES. With six teams in the -senior division, and a -good entry in other grades, the Hamilton Rugby Union’s competitions will be Inaugurated on Saturday. The senior teams will be gaged in the first games of the Sage Cup championship round at Rugby Park. Final details concerning the -opening of the season were completed at a meeting of the Hamilton Union Management Committee last night, Mr S. E. Senior presiding -over a full attendance of delegates. The delegates were the same as last year, with the exoption of Mr P. P. Meffln representing Marlst Brothers Old Boys and Mr P. Johnson representing Railway, who were welcomed to the committee by the chairman. Mr J. H. Kennedy representing the Horotiu Works Football Club, also attended to present his club’s claims for admission to the union as a senior club. Further correspondence in connection with an insurance claim ot last year from G. B. Fisken (Ruakura), was referred to the Insurance Committee for further inquiry and report. Club Colours. The management committee approved -of a request from the l’echnical Old Boys’ -Club that it -should be permitted to change its club colours from 1934 onwards from white Jersey to blue and white, -three inch ■hoops, with the club monogram, black knlcker-s, and blue and white hooped stockings. The tender -of M. Wadham for the sale of sweets at Rugby Park was ac■coptcd. Messrs A. S. -Cllffe, W. Fraser and E. J. L. Whiting were appointed delegates to the Waikato Rugby Union Management Committee. An application from the Tauwhare School for the grant of a school football was referred to the Cambridge Union and a similar application from the Rukuhla School was deferred for later consideration. Nominations and Registrations. Nominations 'and registrations from Technical Old Boys, Frankton, Marlst Bros.’ Old Boys. Old Boys and Railway, were received and approved, subject tci clearances where required, coming forward within three weeks of registration. An application ,to enter a senior team was received from the Horotiu works. A list of thirty-six players was submitted and the club was ad.mltted on the motion of Mr P. Johnson (Piailway). A lengthy discussion ensued as tothe advisability of the Horotiu Club registering players who are and have been actively associated with looal clubs. It was pointed out by the chairman, to the Horotiu delegate, that the registration toy Horotiu-, of players who had been actively asso-' elated with local clubs tended to weaken local football and was looked upon with disfavour toy the management committee. The Horotiu delegate undertook to convey to the players concerned — four in number—-that they were entirely free in the matter of theirchoice of clubs.

The regrading of J. Fisher (Frankton) and T. Mills and W. Whittaker (Old Boys) from senior to junior as recommended by the Junior Board was approved. Admission charges to Rugby Park were set as follows: Ground Ls, both ■stands Gd, cars at Whitiora end only Is. Bub-Commlttee3 Appointed. The following sub-committees were set up:—lnsurance, Messrs H. V. Bateman, A. E. Gibbons and P. Meffln; grounds, Messrs A. S. Cliffe, T. W. Thompson and E. J. L. Whiting; weather, Messrs S. E. Senior, A. E, ■Gibbons and H, V. Bateman; advertising, Messrs T. W. Thompson and C. Speight; emergency, Messrs Thompson, Speight and Senior. The draw for the Sage Cup championship round, commencing on Saturday was taken, as well as .the draw for the grounds, and resulted as follows: Technloal Old Boys v. Frankton, No. 1, Rugby Park, 3 p.m.; Railway v. Old Boys, No. 2, Rugby Park, 3 p.m.; Marist v. Horotlu, No'. 3, Rugby Park, 3 p.m. JUNIOR ADVISORY BOARD. At a meeting of the Junior Advisory Board, .Mr H. Layne presided over a full attendance of club delegates. Entries for the competition, consisting of ten junior teams, ten third, four and possibly live fourth grade, four fifth and four sixth were received. Nominations for Junior grade, consisted of Frankton, Old Boys, Technical out Boys, Marist Bros. Old Boys, Railway, ' High School, Te Kowhai, Ngahinapouri, Ruakura and Kiwi, r ui the third grade the entries were as follows: Technical Olcl Boys “A" and .. B old Boys, Marjst Bros. Old Boys, Marist Bros. High School, Te Kowhai, Rich School, Technical School, 1-rank-ton, and Whatawhata Rovers The fourth grade- entries consisted ol Frankton Technical School, High School Technical Old Boys,- and possibly Railway. Fifth grade nominations were Railway, Technical School A> High School. Sixth grade were Technical School (2), and High School (2 n W as decided to continue the system inaugurated last season of running the junior grade In one comnetilion, the championship to consist of two rounds, the second round to also count for tho one-round competition. A similar procedure will also be carried out in reference lo tho thirl grade in which there arc also ten teams entered. The registrations -were read and approved subject to clearance being provided where necessary. The applications or the V rank loti club to have J. Fisher and of Hie Did Hovs’ Chili to have T. Mills and W. Whittaker regraded from senior to junior were recommended to Hie management committee of Hie Union lor action. Weighing nights were set down for Thursday, April 27, ami Friday. April 28 from 7 until 9.15 p.m., and Saturday, April 29, from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. , , A member of the Franklon fourth grade team of last season appeared before Hie board for slriking an opponent during one of the last matches of the 1932 season, lie was ordered , to stand down for the tirst two corn-
