NEW GOLF COURSE
SUGGESTED FOR CLAUDELANDS. A suggestion lias been made that a part of the Showgrounds at Claudelands should he made into a golf course, according to an announcement by Mr W. Newell, at a meeting of the Waikalo Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day. Mr Newell explained that ho had been approached by one of the promoters. who wished to know whether Hie association would he agreeable. Mr Newell added that' lie would he agreeable to surrender his grazing rights over Hie area should the revenue for its use as a golf course give a greater return. The matter was discussed informally, so that, as Mr Newell suggested, members could lie ready to go into it more fully at a later date.
