GLEN MASSEY. Churoh Service. Owing to the very inclement weather on Sunday the bi-monthly Presbyterian service was not well attended. The Rev. Mr Rupfecht, of Pukemlro, preached. The Weather. A strong westerly gale, accompanied by frequent heavy rain squalls, was experienced over the week-end. Although no serious damage resulted the flower gardens and small shrubs suffered considerably.

KAIPAKI. Ping-Pong Club. The official opening of the Pingpong Club took place on Thursdaynight, when there were visitors from Cambridge, Monavale, and Lake Road, to whom Mr C. McDonald (chairman,), extended a welcome. A knock-out doubles tournament was played, and won by Miss Edith Speake and Mr Tom Hammerton. After an enjoyable supper dancing occupied the rest of the evening. Mr G. Boyd was M.C., and the music was I supplied by Miss Alice Speake, Miss | Isabel Boyd and Mr Bruce Elliott. Church Service. Services for the Easter 'Festival were continued at Kaipaki on Sunday morning, when the Sacrament of Holy Communion was administered. There was a good congregation. The [Rev. G. G. Bell, vicar of Cambridge, was the celebrant. Hockey. The hockey boys had their 'first praotice of the season, on Saturday, in a paddock kindly lent by Mr E. Boucher. The membership is strong, and It is hoped that both a senior and . junior team will be placed in the ■field. The club intends to affiliate to the Waikato Hockey Association.

MATANGI. School Gymkhana and Plonlo. The popularity of the Matangi School gymkhana, with which was combined the school pi.onic, was well demonstrated on Saturday, when, despite the inclement weather, numbers of people gathered in Mr Retter’s paddock. The School Committee had the event well organised. Mr R. Ranstead was in charge of the equestrian events, and the sports, etc., were in charge of Messrs P. Hinton, T. Shaw, I. Robinson and other members of the School Committee, and helpers. The tea rooms were in charge of the committeemen’s wives, who had many helpers. The produce stall, ice cream, etc., was in charge of Mrs Dunford, Mrs R. Ranstead and Miss D. Dunford. The iced cake, in charge of Mrs Hodgson, was won by Mr J. Wylde, and ttie weight-guessing of the sheep by Mr V. Lynds. The sweets stall was in charge of Misses M. Tomlinson and J.
