ANZAC DAY.
TO-MORROW’S SERVICES. HAMILTON COMMEMORATION. MARCH TO MEMORIAL PARK. The ceremonies at Hamilton in connection with Anzac Day, which falls to-morrow, will commence at 10.45 a.m, with a procession of veterans of the Great War and South African war, territorials, bands, cadets and girl guides from Ward Street to the Cenotaph, Memorial Park, River Road. At 11.30 a.m. the citizens’ united commemoration service at the Cenotaph will commence. The Ven. Archdeacon H. A. Hawkins, will deliver a brief address. The Mayor of Hamilton, Dr. F. D. Pinfold, will preside. In the event of inclement weather the gasworks siren will be sounded at 10.45, and, by cotirtesy of Hamitlon Theatr.es, Ltd., the service will be held in the Theatre Royal. If necessary there will be an overflow service at the Strand Theatre. It is requested that flowers should be sent to Memorial Park before 10 a.m. Members of the Hamilton Beautifying Society will be in attendance there from 9 a.m. to receive them. The Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association invites veterans of the late war and South African War, to take part in the parade. On this occasion the dress will be mufti and medals. A request that the public should break step when crossing the Traffic Bridge owing to possible damage to the structure should a large body of people move over keeping in step, has been issued by the Borough Coupcil. Between the hours of 10.45 a.m. and 12.45 p.m., all vehicular traffic will be stopped on River Road, between the Traffic Bridge and Riro Street.
