GIFT EVENING.
AT TE AROHA. Nearly one hundred friends assembled at the residence of Mr and Mrs S. F. Reid, Walhou, where a gift evening was held In honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Mavis Lennan to Mr Edward Reid. A pleasant evening was spent In dancing and with games and cards. Mr S. Thompson expressed pleasure in presenting the guests of the evening with a fine array of useful and valuable gifts, and Mr E. Reid suitably replied. Among the ladles present were:— Misses V. Conning, T. Porter, T. Bottomley, E. Clarice, M. Porter, M. Miller, R. Goodwin, G. Porter, C. Jackson, E. Crowdale and T. Jackson; Mesdames S. F. Reid, H. Hieatt, W. Dlcken, S. Thompson, W. Lennan, J. Colson, W. Jessop, W. Jackson, D. Borrle, A. Reid, J. Davison, J. Porter, G. Reid, E. Mackie, C. Reid, W. Voysey, F. Martin, F. Smllthurst, J. Priest, R. McCabo, A. McCabe, C. Miller, W. Motley and L. Mudgway. The evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
