School Picnic. The annual school picnic was held at the Hamilton Lake. The day turned out fine. Each scholar received a book, and the younger ones a toy. The day passed pleasantly with games and races, the -winners being as follows:—Senior boys: T. Christensen 1, A. Forster 2; middle boys: Keith Petersen i, D. Taylor 2; small boys: Max Haggo 1, Hatherley Schneebeli 2; boys’ consolation: Ray Bolton 1, Ross Schneebeli 2; boys’ threelegged race: Roland McLeod and Dick Taylor i, lan Christensen and Leslie Petersen ‘2; potato race: Ray Bolton 1, June Taylor 2; senior girls: June Taylor 1, Elsie Haggo 2; midde girls: Mavis Khutz 1, Norma McDermott, 2; small girls: Phyllis Devitt 1, Joyce Khutz 2; girls’ consolation race: Rosaline Taylor 1, Tilly McLeod 2; girls’ three-legged race: Pearl McLeod and Elsie Haggo i, Ineawa Finlay and Joyce Kuhtz 2; married ladies: Mrs iR. S. Young 1, Mrs R. Christensen 2; single ladies: Miss R. Shute 1, Miss N. Speedy 2; married men: P. Thomson 1, C. E. Thomas 2; single men, E. Thomas 1, E. Bogun 2; ladies’ chain-stepping: Miss A. Shute 1, Mrs Shute 2. The school has started the year with a roll number of only 32.
