MELANESIAN MISSION.
WRECKED SOUTHERN CROSS. PICKING UP THE CREW. (By Telegrjpfa.—Press, Association.) AUCKLAND, Friday. The Melanesian Mission Board has received a cable from Captain Stanton, of the wrecked Southern Cross, stating that he has been compelled by the weather to return to Vila In the chartered vessel in which he set out to pick mp the remainder of the crew. lie has arranged with the Morinda, ■which will leave Auckland to-night, to call at Anpityum and pick up all hands. Ho expects to charter a craft to proceed to Tilagi on November 2T>th. The second officer, Mr R. Holmes, has been picked up from Tanna Island.
