THE PRINCE OF WALES.
SCENE IN BELFAST. MINGLED WITH THE CROWD. DEMONSTRATION OF AFFECTION, United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. CopyrtgtiL (Received Nov. 18, 9.30 a.m.) BELFAST, Nov. 17. One of the most remarkable demonstrations of affection the Prince of Wales ever experienced was given at Hillsborough where he is staying at Government House. The Prince, who was dining with the Governor-General, the Duke of Abercorn, suddenly decided to visit the adjoining village. Without- hat or coat the Prince at first passed unnoticed as he mingled with the crowd. Then he was enthusiastically mobbed by hundreds of villagers. With difficulty they made a path for him to the war memorial, where many drumming parties were performing. The Prince delighted the crowd by borrowing a drumstick and beating a drum himself for some minutes. He then struggled back to Government House and climbed a wall from where lie addressed the crowd. Finally he Jumped back into the Vice-Regal grounds, the crowd remaining cheering outside until midnight.
