AUSTRALIA’S RIVIERA.
COAST OF QUEENSLAND. A much-travelled man is Mr P. Ryan, of Wellington, who left on a health trip to Australia by the Monowal. Only recently Mr Ryan spent some time on Magnetic Island, near Townsville ,on the Queensland coast. “People talk of Honolulu and California," said Mr Ryan, "Why, they are not to be compared with this coast in the winter. On Magnetic Island, where there is good accommodation, and Japanese attendants, one can live the lotus life in lovely and perfectly healthy surroundings, for the heat is dry and its fierceness is tempered by the surrounding ocean. "I feel sure that this coast will one day become the acknowledged Riviera of Australia and New Zealand."
