SALE OF MEDALS.
ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES. TWO MEN CHARGED.. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Charged with obtaining money by false pretences, Norris Blaxall (39 J, jeweller, and Luke Stephens Dalan (27), ship’s steward, appeared for trial before Mr Justice Ostler and a jury in the Supreme Court. It was allaged that they had made spurious gold medals and sold them to gold buyers, representing the medals to be solid 18-carat gold. There were six charges and the total amount involved w.]s £29.
