The Governor-General. Lord Bledisloe, has consented to act' as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons, New Zealand Constitution, for the third year. He will be reinstalled at the annual communication of Grand Lodge, which Is t-o be held In Auckland on November 23. The 'Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates will arrive at Auckland from Wellington to-morrow morning. In the evening he will speak at Pukekohe on the Ottawa Conference and Its results. Mr. W. Grounds, of Hoklanga, Is in Hamilton. . Mr. C. L. Luke, of the Bay of Plenty, is on a visit to Hamilton. Mr J. Stewart, of John Stewart Advertising, is in Hamilton. Mr. J. H. Stubbs, of Northern Walroa, is visiting Hamilton. Mr. J. W. Sumner, of the Rangitaiki Plains, is a visitor to Hamilton. Mr. F. Cullen, of Maungaturoto, North Auckland, is a visitor to Hamilton. Mr A. M. Loewenthal, of Sydney, Federal president of the Field Officers' Association of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, is visiting Hamilton. From here he goes to Rotorua. Mr George Lansbury has (says a London cable message) been elected Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Mr P. B. Foote, of TJmaru, was elected a life member of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand at the annual conference held In Auckland yesterday. Mr B. McGasklll, senior Inspector of schools for Hawke’s Ray, has received advice of his promotion lo the position of senior inspector of schools at Wellington. The president of the Takapnna Exservicemen’s Club, Captain J. A. Algle, who is leaving on a trip to England, was farcwelled by the club at a smoke concert. Mr Bryce Hart, who presided, presented Captain Algie, on behalf of the club, with an attache case. Feeling reference lo the passing of the late Mr A. E. Johns, an old member of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was made by the president, Mr 11. Windsor, at a meeting of the general committee to-day. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of deceased was carried, the meeting standing.
